Financial Aid Q & A | | Apply for Financial Aid (Process & Timeline) |
Financial Aid enables St. Gabriel’s Catholic School to enroll students with promise who would not otherwise have access to an independent, Catholic school education because of financial constraints. The extension of this aid makes our school more accessible and affordable, thus fostering a more diverse school community. St. Gabriel’s offers need-based financial aid for students whose families cannot afford the full cost of a St. Gabriel’s education. For the 2009-2010 academic year 15% of the student body received financial assistance in the form of grants, which do not need to be repaid. Financial aid assistance is awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need to qualified students who have been admitted as new students or are returning students.
Since admission is a separate issue, all families who are interested in financial aid are encouraged to apply. It is not uncommon for prospective students to apply for financial aid. All financial aid awards are based solely upon the family’s need as determined by the Financial Aid Committee.
As with most schools, St. Gabriel’s uses the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) from the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in Princeton, New Jersey, to help with the process of awarding Financial Aid. A PFS application may be obtained from St. Gabriel’s Admissions Office, or online at http://sss.nais.org No financial aid is awarded until the Admissions Office receives official documentation from the School and Student Services for Financial Aid. It is the responsibility of parents to submit the forms online or by mail, no later than March 1, 2010 so that financial aid decisions can be made on a timely basis.
